Helen Kim Bass, CSA, is a Financial Representative for New England Financial and a Registered
Representative for New England Securities Corporation, Helen started working in the financial
services industry in 1981. After the birth of her first child, she became a small business
owner. She brings 20 years of experience in family owned business in banking, restaurant,
import & export, and retail businesses. Helen serves as a MetDESK® Specialist in California, Nevada, and Arizona.
MetDESK®, MetLife® Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids, is a resource to
families who have children and other dependents with special needs. She is committed to
helping families through the maze of legal and financial issues. Helen's dedication to the
special needs community stems from having a child, Daniel, her youngest son, experience a
Traumatic Brain Injury in 1986. Helen is a regular speaker and teaches a broad range of topics on finances:
Retirement Planning, Women's issues, Special Needs Planning, Charitable Giving, Budgeting,
and Care Giving Issues. Recent speaking engagements include: Pepperdine University,
UCLA Medical Group, LAUSD, USC Therapy School, California Lutheran University, Northridge
Hospital, San Bernardino SELPA, Stillpoint Resources, Fiesta Educativa, and the Autism Society. Helen serves on the Board of Directors for a number of non-profit organizations
such as Western Law Center for Disability Rights with Loyola University and Stillpoint
Resources. She serves as a founder of Horizon Project, a project of California Community
Partners, for the children of special needs from the Asian-American community.
